It was exicting to be putting the first board up on the roof deck of the main house. Little did we know how long we'd be at it. |
January 11, 2004: snow
Two weeks later, shoveling out the next snow was just a chore, even though the bare spot was then ¾ of the way across the back of the house.

By the middle of March, the back was done and protected from the rain by a temporary layer of tarpaper. |
Then the wind came. Then came the first of many repair jobs on the tarpaper. |
Almost done. Almost April. Almost not suffering high blood pressure every time it rains. The blue tarp protects the stack of new ceiling boards -- already sanded and stained. |
