First: more foundation. It was Barbara's idea to mix and pour on our own concrete instead of calling a ready-mix truck.
Our crane proves its versatility by coming outside to lift the 8x8 porch posts onto their foundations.
In the foreground, see all the posts, cut to length and notched to accept a girder to support floor joists at the front of the porch. All that kinda needs to line up, straight and level. We measure carefully and cross our fingers.
Here we have two-thirds of the top beam in place. It seems to be lining up. Wheeew!
Kira and Devon put floor joists on both porches and now they dig for a drainage pipe before doing the same for the wrap-around deck on the north end.
