Finishing off the outside

With the roof deck protected by tarpaper (between windstorms), and waiting for our SIPs to be delivered, we finish off the outside.

Here, Tom is caulking the seams under each log at the outside. That's to keep rain out of the crack; it's already weather tight from the weather stripping inside the wall.

Barbara and the kids stain the whole outside, including the porch ceiling and the 25' high peak -- three coats.

Barbara also found us a huge tarp.

The tarp covers the main roof. Meanwhile we got tired of tarpaper -- the porch roofs are now topped with "WinterGuard," a thicker product with adhesive.

Wait... do I hear a truck coming?
